Autofill Beta Terms
Version 1.0 · Last updated: October 9, 2026
These Autofill Beta Terms (the “Beta Terms”) cover the GoRefer Autofill (Beta) Chrome extension (the “extension”). They are an agreement between GoRefer.io LLC (“GoRefer,” “we” or “us”) and the firm that uses the extension (“your firm”). They also apply to each person who installs or uses the extension for the firm (“you”).
By installing or using the extension, you accept these Beta Terms for your firm and confirm that you are allowed to do so. If you do not accept them, do not install or use the extension.
Effective October 9, 2026.
1. Who These Terms Apply To
These Beta Terms apply to every firm with a GoRefer account that uses the extension, and to every preparer and administrator who uses it for that firm.
These Beta Terms add to the GoRefer Terms of Service. Words defined in the Terms of Service mean the same here. If these Beta Terms and the Terms of Service conflict, the Terms of Service govern, except on the beta matters these Beta Terms address, where these Beta Terms govern.
The extension also asks you to accept the Preparer Acknowledgment when you sign in. These Beta Terms apply in addition to it.
2. Your License
While your firm's GoRefer subscription is active, GoRefer grants your firm a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and use the extension, through the people your firm authorizes, for the firm's own client work.
GoRefer and its licensors keep all other rights in the extension. The license ends when your firm's subscription ends or when access ends under section 10.
3. What Beta Means
The extension is a beta. That means:
- It is provided “as is” and “as available.”
- It may change, pause or stop at any time, with or without notice.
- GoRefer makes no uptime or availability commitment for it.
- It can make mistakes, including skipping a box or entering a value in the wrong box.
To the fullest extent the law allows, GoRefer gives no warranty for the extension, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. The disclaimers in the Terms of Service also apply.
If something goes wrong, please tell us at support@gorefer.io. Your reports help us fix problems.
4. Your Responsibilities
GoRefer Autofill helps with data entry. You, the preparer, are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying every entry and for signing and submitting the return.
- Review and verify every value the extension enters, against the client's source documents, before you save, sign or submit the return.
- The preparer and the firm stay responsible for the return and its accuracy, including every value the extension entered or left out.
- The extension does not give tax advice, does not review the return for accuracy, and does not sign or file returns.
- Keep your GoRefer sign-in secure and do not share it.
- Your firm makes sure that the people it lets use the extension follow these Beta Terms.
5. Your Tax Software
You must have your own valid access to your tax software. You are responsible for following your tax software's license and terms of use, including any rules about third-party tools.
GoRefer is not affiliated with or endorsed by any tax software maker. The extension works only with the tax software listed in the Autofill Extension Privacy Policy.
6. Using the Extension Properly
You agree to:
- use the extension only for clients your firm is authorized to serve, and only with information your firm may use for that client's return;
- not try to get around a website's security or verification checks. The extension stops at them, and you complete them yourself;
- not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or redistribute the extension, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law allows it despite this limit;
- not use the extension in a way that breaks the law, breaks your tax software's terms, or interferes with GoRefer or any website; and
- not share your access with anyone outside your firm.
7. AI Features
AI field assist is on by default. You can turn it off in the extension's Settings. When it is on, the extension sends GoRefer the form fields being filled and which of your client's details they need, so GoRefer can suggest where each detail goes. Your client's answers are not sent for this.
Review with Gio runs only when you start it. It sends the client's intake and the results of the fill to GoRefer's AI provider, Microsoft, to check the return for problems.
AI suggestions and findings can be wrong. Review them like any other value before you save or file. You decide what goes on the return.
8. Your Data
The Autofill Extension Privacy Policy explains what the extension collects, who receives it and how long it is kept. When GoRefer handles your clients' information for your firm, the Data Processing Addendum sets out how. The GoRefer Privacy Policy covers the rest of the service.
9. Gio Credits
Fills and Review with Gio use Gio credits, at the rates shown in the product. Credit purchases and refunds follow the Terms of Service.
10. Suspension and Ending Access
GoRefer may suspend or end access to the extension, for you or for your firm, if:
- you or your firm break these Beta Terms or the Terms of Service;
- your firm's subscription ends;
- it is needed to protect your clients, other users, GoRefer or anyone else; or
- GoRefer stops offering the extension.
You can stop using the extension at any time by removing it from Chrome. When access ends, the license ends and you must remove the extension. Sections 4, 6, 8 and 11 continue to apply after access ends.
11. Limitation of Liability
The limitation of liability in the Terms of Service applies to the extension.
The extension is a beta data-entry tool that you supervise. To the fullest extent the law allows, GoRefer is not responsible for errors on a return, or for penalties, interest or other losses, that result from a value the extension entered or left out, or from an AI suggestion, that your review did not catch.
Nothing in these Beta Terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Beta Terms. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will tell you in the extension or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the extension after a change takes effect, the updated Beta Terms apply.
