Open a Client in GoRefer
Select your client in the GoRefer popup. The extension reads the tax software page open in the same browser and matches the hostname to the correct adapter.

Click Fill Return
GoRefer maps all client data to the software's fields and writes them in one shot — triggering every React/Vue change event the software expects so values are accepted.

Review & Correct
A per-field summary shows what was filled, what was skipped (optional fields not on the current page), and anything that needs your attention. Undo if needed.

Generate Due Diligence (Optional)
After filling, tap 'Generate Due Diligence' to produce an AI-powered memo from uploaded docs, client notes, and intake data. Review and email it to the client with one click.
Security & Compliance
No PII stored in browser
SSNs, EINs, and bank details are fetched live from the encrypted backend at fill time. Nothing sensitive ever lands in localStorage, cookies, or extension storage.

All network calls go through the background service worker — never from the content script running on the tax software page. The tax software page can never observe or intercept GoRefer data.

Frequently asked questions
The web-based versions of six platforms: Drake Tax, TaxSlayer Pro, OLT Pro, My Tax Office, Cloud Tax Office and Blue Hero Tax. Every one of them was mapped by reading the live product's own form fields. A browser extension cannot reach Windows desktop software, so UltraTax CS, Lacerte and ATX are out of scope entirely — and we would rather say so than list them.
The extension reports those fields as 'skipped — field not on current page' and continues filling all visible fields. It will never auto-click 'Next' or 'Continue' on your behalf; you control navigation.
An AI-powered feature included with the AutoFill Extension Add-On that analyzes the client's uploaded documents, preparer notes, and intake form to produce a structured memo covering Form 8867 categories (EITC, CTC, AOTC, HOH), risk flags, and recommended additional documents. It can be emailed directly to the client.
The current release targets Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc). Firefox and Safari versions are on the roadmap.
AutoFill and Due Diligence require an active extension subscription through the separate Extension Add-On. The popup shows a clear upgrade prompt with a direct link to billing if the feature isn't enabled for your firm.
